Conversations with Leah

We've just finished dinner. Leah has once again taken residence on my lap. I'm squeezing and hugging her, marveling at how quickly time is going by. I look at our family portrait on the dining room wall. Leah is 8 months old. "Leah. What happened to my baby? Where did you go? I don't want you to grow up! I want you to be like that baby again" I say, teasing her. "I can't believe you're going to preschool next week. What happened?"

Leah looks into my eyes. She cups my face with her petite hands and with all the three year old sympathy she can muster says, "Mommy. Mommy...I'll be a baby on Saturday, ok?"

Aw, too cute!

Tyler likes to hold my head in his hands, too. but he puts them under my chin and pulls my face close and says, "Look at me! LOOK AT ME!!!"

Um, I have NO idea where he gets that from, either.

Too cute! And I can't believe the pics you sent! She's such a big girl! I could have sworn you just sent us baby pictures last week. Crazy!

NICE. Saturday will be the longest day of your life. LOL!! When Isabella was about 4 I said the same thing to her. She proceeded to tell me that she's going to stop eating so that she'll stop growing. We're still working on the eating issues but it's gotten better. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!!

So dang sweet.

I ask The Duckling that all the time, "Where's my baby?"

"I'm right here!"

Duh, mommy.
